Families and community members, you are cordially invited to join Nettelhorst's next Local School Council (LSC) meeting on September 16th. This meeting will be a special (public) event with the six candidates who are running for seats on the CPS school board. Date and time: September 16 at 6pm. Doors open at 5:30pm.
Location: Nettelhorst Auditorium. Enter at Door 6 near the back playlot
No RSVP necessary - any community members (including children) are invited to attend. Seats will be first come, first served.
Event format: We will hear from all six candidates (more info below) in a panel format. We'll also have a live Q&A with the audience.
About Chicago's (First!) Elected School Board
Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is moving from an appointed (seven person) school board to an elected (21 person) school board on November 5, 2024.
In 2024, we will elect 10 of the 21 positions. Mayor Johnson will appoint the other eleven, including the School Board President.
